Welcome to Mud & Medicine!

Thanks for stopping by! I decided to create this blog in order to document my transition from ending a three year stint in a Ph.D. program in Earth and Environmental Sciences (left with an M.S. in May 2011) to starting medical school (first day: August 9, 2012)! I'm trading Antarctic and Mississippi mud in geology for patients and pharmaceuticals in medicine.

For the next couple of months until school begins, I just plan on posting about life (i.e. my July wedding to a wonderful man!!, cooking, my inspirations, etc), but during my medical training, as time permits, I am endeavoring to post updates about what I'm learning and my thoughts about my experience as a non-traditional medical doctor in training.
